The Department of Information Technology, Computer Science and Computer Applications J.J. College of Arts and Science (Autonomous), Pudukkottai organized a Special Lecture Programme on the Forenoon of Tuesday, 17th December, 2019.

Mr. Nachiappan Valliappan, Google Inc, Mountain View, California, U.S.A., delivered a special lecture on “Trends in Information Technology:2020 & Beyond”. He outline the latest trends in I.T and career opportunities in I.T. He a gave detailed lecture on Cloud Computing, Internet of Things, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Mobile Computing & APP’s, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality, Cyber Security and Privacy. He also gave a few tips for successful job-search strategies and Helpful Resources.

He clearly explained the Cloud Computing concepts and the importance of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS. He brought out the benefits of Cloud Computing. He explained IoT’s Benefits and details.

He gave 10 tips for Successful job search. They are identify your skill sets, research the company, create your online presence, build your Networks, create your elevator pitch, prepare a brief resume, prepare well for the Interview, be yourself at the Interview, always ask Question, and send a thank you note to interviewers.

He listed the helpful resources for job seekers, like the Internet, online portals and books that would feed them with the information needed to face the technical part of the interview and added a few tips to succeed in the I.T. sector 1. Identify your specialization 2. Gain hands on Experience 3. Seek challenging opportunities 4. Develop excellent soft skills 5. Never stop learning 6. Surround yourself with talented people

Dr. Kavithasubramanian Trustee, Karpaga Vinayaga Educational Trust, presided over the programme, Dr. S.J. Sathish, Head, Department of Computer Applications made necessary arrangements for the programme.
